FinalScratch(r) is a unique technology that allows real-time manipulation and even scratching of digital music files such as .MP3, .WAV, .AIF using any standard turntable and mixer set-up. A DJ can now mix and scratch digital music the way they have always done it, by hand...with vinyl.

FinalScratch(r) uses time-code pressed on vinyl records to manipulate the sound files on the computer's hard drive. As the record moves back and forth on the turntable, so does the digital music file on the computer.

FinalScratch(r) is the best and only real bridge for the DJ to enter and control the digital world!

Updates Available for Windows XP and Mac OS X 10.3

With the update to version 1.5 FinalScratch(r) can be used under Windows XP for the first time ever! In addition TRAKTOR FS 1.5 brings important optimizations for Mac OS X Panther.

The main new feature in this update is the Key Correction function. This makes it possible to change the tempo of a track without changing the pitch. This feature is based on the widely acclaimed time stretching technology from TRAKTOR DJ STUDIO 2.5, guaranteeing excellent sound quality.

Now for Windows XP

With version 1.5 TRAKTOR FS now finally runs as a full-fledged Windows application. The new, highly optimized Windows drivers for the ScratchAmp(tm) offer even lower latency values than the previous Linux version. Additional advantages of the Windows version include super easy installation, support for all OS-recognized network and firewire devices, as well as vastly enhanced performance in track management. Plus the ScratchAmp can be connected while the program is running.

Optimized for Mac OS 10.3 "Panther"

The 1.5 Mac update for TRAKTOR FS brings new drivers for the ScratchAmp that have been specially optimized for Mac OS 10.3 "Panther". The new drivers will guarantee a stabile and high performance operation on Apple's latest operating system.

New Features for Windows and Mac OS X

TRAKTOR FS 1.5 now offers the high-quality timestretching functionality of TRAKTOR DJ Studio 2.5, which has received much praise from the trade press for its outstanding sound quality. With this function it's possible to "freeze" the pitch of an instrumental track or vocal passage, even though the DJ can still use the pitch control on the turntables to change the tempo.

This feature is particularly impressive in that it lets live DJs make wide changes without producing audible artifacts. Just like a professional CD player, TRAKTOR FS 1.5 can make changes in a range of +/- 50% without any audible pitch fluctuations, even when manually adjusting the turntable.

In order to guarantee optimal results on every computer from 600 MHz or faster, the "Key Correction" feature provides three different quality modes.

Update in the NI Online Shop

The TRAKTOR FS 1.5 update is now available in the NI Online Shop. For a limited time, it will be offered as a free download to all customers who purchased a full FINALSCRATCH Version 1.1 retail package after January 1, 2004 (Grace Period / proof of purchase required).

FINALSCRATCH 1.1 users can download the update for $49 / 49 Euro or receive a CD for $79 / 79 (shipping included). For 1.0 users, the price is $69 / 69 Euro for a direct download or $99 / 99 Euro for an update CD (shipping included).

FINALSCRATCH 1.1 users who do not wish to purchase the 1.5 update can download the Mac OS 10.3 drivers for free in the downloads section of the NI website.

Additionally, users who purchase the 1.5 update can download both the Mac and Windows version, allowing them to use FinalScratch on two computers (Mac and PC) with only one serial number!
